Help Us Build a Community Center for the Tibetan Community of Connecticut
The Tibetan Community of Connecticut, with around 1,000 members, is a vibrant and growing community. Yet, despite our numbers and rich culture, we lack a dedicated space where we can gather, celebrate, and connect.
That’s why we’re embarking on an exciting mission: to secure a property in Connecticut that will serve as our community center. This community center will not only be a physical space, but a symbol of our shared values and aspirations. We have big dreams for what this center can offer to our community, and we need your help to make them a reality.
Our Vision for the Community Center
Educational Growth for Children:
Our vision includes a space that supports children’s education, where parents can drop off their children in the morning and pick them up in the evening. This will foster language acquisition, strengthen community bonds, and help preserve our Tibetan heritage. The center will offer Tibetan language classes, history and cultural lessons, and activities that will equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills they need to carry our traditions forward.
Buddhist Philosophy and Prayer Sessions
The center will provide educational programs on Buddhist philosophy for all ages, helping everyone, from children to adults, understand the teachings that have shaped our culture for centuries. For our elderly members, we will also host weekly prayer and meditation sessions.
Celebrating Together
The community center will also provide a venue for members to celebrate important milestones, like birthdays, weddings, and other significant events. It will serve as a hub for cultural expression, socializing, and fostering deeper connections among us all

Support for Children and Elderly
In addition to educational and cultural programs, our center will offer caregiving services for children and elderly community members. This will allow parents and caretakers to focus on their work and personal lives, knowing their loved ones are being cared for in a safe and nurturing environment. This initiative will strengthen our community as a whole and empower everyone to contribute to the greater good.
